History

B.I. (Europe) Limted originally B.I. Limited itself began in 1967, as the founding chairman of the company started out as a sole trader, within the fruit and vegetable wholesale market. This progressed from in essence a ‘man in a van’ to a cash & carry based in Southall (London). As time progressed a potential within the food packaging industry was realised, the company then moved into the spice packaging market. In 1976 B.I then moved into our first warehouse and manufacturing unit, from this unit B.I started its first mass produced spice packets. As the spice packaging continued, the location of the factory in Southall presented an opportunity to approach the major airlines, due the close proximity of the Heathrow Airport. The major airlines were approached and an opening for contract packaging materialised, and from here the move into condiments happened.

In 1991 B.I moved into the Leicester area to take advantage of the central transport links for the UK. From this B.I has enjoyed continuous growth since then, and has now one of the widest ranges of standard sauces and condiments in portion pack servings in Europe. For many years B.I. has been a leading supplier to the U.K. airline industry and the range has continually expanded to meet this market’s ever growing requirements. The flexibility and quality developed for this market has lead B.I into successful partnerships in the general catering and retail trades.
